Simulation crack growth of the concrete wall under normal and transverse load in Abaqus

In this tutorial Simulation crack growth of the concrete wall under normal and transverse load in Abaqus has been studied. The concrete wall is modeled as three dimensional part and crack plane as shell part. You can see  a figure of assembled parts at below

For concrete traction separation law as maximum principal stress with fracture energy has been used. It is important point to use that material model to observe the crack propagation physically . The general static step is appropriate for this type of analysis. XFEM crack growth procedure is used to model crack propagation inside the concrete wall by defining crack plane as initial crack location. The fix boundary is assigned to the bottom of concrete wall . Vertical and horizontal pressure are applied to the wall . The mesh size has a great effect over the crack growth form

Under the vertical and horizontal pressure load the crack begin to propagate and during the step crack growth along crack plane. You can see some figures of the result at below

You can provide CAE ,INP,and English video files of this simulation here. The cost of these files are  Twenty Three US Dollars. you can click on the bellow bottom to beginning process
