In this tutorial Dynamic analysis of tunnel in soil subjected to internal blast loading by using CEL method in Abaqus has been investigated. Underground roadway and railway tunnels, tunnels for utility lines and water pipelines are indivisible parts of the civil infrastructure. In the recent decades, explo-sion incidents caused by terrorist activities inside underground infrastructure have proved to be a growing threat to the human civilization. Internal
explosion in a tunnel is often more hazardous than an explosion above ground due to multiple reflections of the blast-induced shock wave on the tunnel wall causing channeling of the shock wave. Hence, in order to safeguard the tunnels from explosion incidents, it is necessary designing the tunnel adequately to sustain the blast loading and for this, it is necessary to understand the response of the tunnel subjected to blast loading, experimentally and numerically. The present work focuses on the advanced numerical analysis of tunnels subjected to blast loading

For the beams steel material with elastic plastic behavior couple with ductile damage criterion, for the soil elastic and Mohr-Coulomb plasticity,for TNT JWL equation of state and for the concrete tunnel because of the huge pressure and failure Johnson Holmquist model are used. Dynamic explicit procedure is appropriate for this type of analysis. General contact has been consider for all contacts domain and embedded region for beams inside concrete host has used.To define Eulerian model volume fraction method to specify location and amount of TNT is used. Proper boundary conditions is assigned to the Eulerian domain and concrete tunnel.The mesh has good effect on result and it is necessarily to use small mesh size
