Simulation retrofit Jute-Epoxy composite of the concrete column under dynamic compression in Abaqus

In this tutorial, the Simulation retrofit Jute-Epoxy composite of the concrete column under dynamic compression in Abaqus  has been investigated. The concrete column is modeled as a three-dimensional solid part. The just-Epoxy part is modeled as a three-dimensional shell. A rigid body is used as the hydraulic jack. You can see a figure of the assembled parts below

The Concrete Damaged Plasticity model is used to model concrete column behavior under compression load. The model is a continuum, plasticity-based, damage model for concrete. It assumes that the main two failure mechanisms are tensile cracking and compressive crushing of the concrete material. This model uses tensile and compressive stress-strain separately and also can predict tensile and compressive damage. The conventional shell with four different layers is used to model Jute-Epoxy lamina. The elastic properties as engineering constant is selected for the Jute-Epoxy. The dynamic explicit step with the mass scale technique to make quasi-static situation is used. The general static step can be used also but because of the not convergence, it needs plenty of time to complete the simulation, on the other hand the explicit step is so faster than the static one. The general contact capability with frictional behavior is selected. The perfect contact is assumed between Jute-Epoxy and concrete column. The fixed boundary condition is assigned to the bottom rigid plate and displacement to the top rigid plate to apply the load. The mesh should be fine to obtain the proper results

After the analysis, all results such as stress, strain, tensile and compression damage, force-displacement diagram, and… are available. You can see some figure for the results below

You can provide CAE ,INP,and English video files of this simulation here. The cost of these files is Twenty-Six Euros. you can click on the bellow bottom to beginning process
