In this tutorial Simulation concrete piled raft in interaction with soil in Abaqus has been done.The piled raft foundation system has recently been widely used for many structures, especially high rise buildings. In this foundation, the piles play an important role in settlement and differential settlement reduction, and thus can lead to economical design without compromising the safety of the structure. In several design cases, the piles are allowed to yield under the design load. Although the load capacity of the pile is exceeded, the piled raft foundation can hold additional loads with controllable settlement. Thus, accurately determining the settlement of the foundation is critical and for this the designers must consider the role of the raft and the role of piles in combination, as well as the interactions between the foundation’s components.You can see a figure of assembled parts at below
The piled raft contains solid part as a raft and five piles with concrete material. Soil is modeled as three dimensional part with elastic plastic material.In this tutorial three steps as Geostatic and two static steps has been used.In the first step the soil weight assigned. In the second step piled raft added to the soil and in the third step pressure load assigned to raft and piles.
During the simulation deformation,stress,strain… are obvious .You can see some figures of the result from this simulation at below
